About Dorridge Village Hall
Dorridge has a fabulous history, for an interesting read, please check out the Wikipedia page.
Location
The Hall can be found on the B4101 (Grange Road) approximately 2 miles from Solihull town centre and the M42 network. The building is set back from the main road and is fairly remote having no buildings nearby. Dorridge Park is directly adjacent to the Hall making it feel quite secluded - a most beautiful setting for photographs.
Hall
The main hall is 17m x 10m and is accessed from the bar area with two sets of double glass doors. There is a fully sized stage at the head of the hall festooned with velvet drapes. The floor is marked out with a full size badminton court which is used every week by various badminton clubs, however appears disguised during events.
The hall is very popular for wedding receptions, anniversary parties, children's parties and adult birthday parties (we do not cater for 16th or 18th birthday parties). It will comfortably seat 120 people for a sit down meal and 150 people at a pinch. The hall has wall lighting ideally for functions and fluourescent strip lighting for a brighter games look. It can also be fitted with disco lights if required.
We have 20 rectangular tables which seat up to 8 people. The chairs are a gold colour fabric which match almost any colour combination you may wish to use for your function.
The carpeted bar area measures an area of 7m x 5m. Lounge chairs are placed around this area for a more informal social setting. We have a fully staffed licensed bar which can be opened at your request for "over 18" functions only - please discuss this when you make your booking. We are licensed from 11.00 am until midnight, although an extension can be sought if desired at the discretion of the committee.
The kitchen is 5m x 4m with two sinks, fridge, cooker and large working areas. There is a large hatch with metal roller-shutter of 3m x 1.2m that opens up onto the hall/bar area for serving of food.
There are male and female toilets off the main corridor plus a disabled toilet.
Stage
Behind the stage area there is a dressing room/meeting room which measures 3m x 4m. It has mirrors and shelving around the walls for use as a dressing room or alternatively as a meeting room for a small number of people. There is access to the stage from this room. There are also male and female toilets.
Car park
There is a large car park right outside the Hall with provision for circa 50 cars.
